Centre for Innovation and Sustainability
The Centre for Innovation and Sustainability forms a three dimensional childrens’ book. It is a story about awareness and a demonstration of how to achieve a sustainable future.
The building design integrates the Learnscape Masterplan developed many years ago by the students. Each part of the new buildings, existing buildings and gardens within the school become a learnscape and demonstrate something different about our relationship with the environment.
A shrine dedicated to logged old growth forests; rest over an oil slick; on top of the drought stricken earth; waiting for the rain and a thunderbolt of photovoltaic energy.
Students from Grade One to Six were involved in the building masterplan.
The new facilities integrate with the existing multi-purpose hall. New facilities include: Library, Flexible Learning Classrooms, Lecture Theatre.
This project is designed to achieve a Greenstar and ABGR equivalency.
