Anne's House
A very small, dilapidated worker’s cottage in Clifton Hill has been altered & extended to create a sustainable light & storage-filled single level dwelling for Anne to live amongst her many & interesting collections.
The interior design celebrates Anne’s Scottish & English ancestry and her love of colours, patterns & textures (with a slight bias toward green).
The heritage facade & rooftops were professionally restored with some help from the Victorian Heritage Restoration Fund. The front rooms (within the existing/ retained parts of the house) celebrate as many Victorian features as possible, even down to the light switches.
The new rear extension is more modern & features passive sustainable features & resilient modern comforts such as solar panels, cross ventilation, northern clerestory windows, heated slab with strong indoor-outdoor connection.
